About This Place

Welcome to Chjoko, a hidden gem located at Liisankatu 9 in the heart of Helsinki. This delightful café has garnered attention not only for its minimalist charm but also for its commitment to quality, particularly in the realm of chocolate and ice cream.

First impressions of Chjoko might leave you pondering its understated exterior, but step inside to be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The décor is elegant yet simple, allowing the actual confections to take center stage. As you indulge in their creations, you'll quickly realize that Chjoko's reputation is well-earned.

According to local patrons, the highlights of Chjoko include their renowned dark chocolate, often described as some of the best in town. While some guests, like Artist In Europe, noted the ice cream can be a touch sweet for their taste, many rave about the exceptional quality. Fellow customer Katina Kettunen even declared it the best ice cream she's ever tasted in Finland, a high compliment considering the competition.

Do not miss their hot chocolate, which has been dubbed the best ever by customer Riina Salmimies. The rich, velvety beverage is the perfect companion to the selection of sweets available, which, though on the pricey side, promise a worthwhile experience. Visitor Barbara T S confirmed the quality with a raving review of a caffé latte that highlighted the overall excellence of their offerings.

However, it's worth noting that some, like Maria Kastruni, voiced that the ambiance might feel slightly "cold" or minimalistic. This allows for a unique focus on the culinary art at play here. Chjoko is not just a café; it’s an experience for those in search of refined flavors in the casual setting of a Helsinki local haunt.

Overall, Chjoko captures the essence of indulgence in simple forms—whether it's through a luxuriously smooth hot chocolate, a scoop of ice cream, or a delightful pastry. For those willing to explore, this café promises a sweet escape that is truly worth its weight in chocolate.

I would give 5 stars if their ice cream weren't too sweet. So far, you get one of the best quality dark chocolates in town

Best Icecream I ever ate in Finland! The place looks from the outside very simple and unrecognisable, but one you found it ans step inside, you will be super surprised.

I had a caffé latte and it was really good, my child got an ice cream and it was very good, vanilla old fashioned Of course prices are high for who ever is coming here as a tourist

I found it little "cold" in some ways. Maybe minimalistic would be a better word. Lovely ice cream and coffee plus other sweets. €€ for a coffee place but I can recommend to try their chocolate.

I went to Chjoko on a weekday in the evening after an early dinner. I got there conveniently with the tram, walked maybe 5min from the stop. It was really quiet and I loved the atmosphere and the decor. I bought a few delights and those were really nice, but they are expensive, as I was expecting. The best part, hands down, was the hot chocolate. It was the best I've ever had!

They have the best soft icecream in Helsinki city. Personal understand my test serve the best combination of icecream boll from all the options.

Glutenfree Options A delicatessen café with a lovely selection of handmade chocolates, ice cream, desserts and an absolute must-visit for connoisseurs of the good things in life. There's a variety of delicious flavors for all taste buds If the weather permits, it is possible to sit outside and enjoy the peaceful life in Kronohagen /Kruunuhaka district. Despite its central location of Helsinki, the area is anyway separated from the city rush. It's not a typical tourist destination so if you are looking for a nice oasis for a coffee break, with a small delicacy snack, away from the big city noise, this is the place! The handmade Chjoko chocolate is also a perfect gift idea for those looking for something special with a story to give away as a present!

I visited this place on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. Very nice and cosy. Lovely sweets and chocolates and good coffee. Nice and friendly staff. There are not many options for saltry snacks though
